Bar, Mixers & Ice — Never Run Out of Ice or Limes

The classic villa mishap is running out of ice and limes at 7 PM, just as sunset drinks begin. This category exists so it never happens: 5-kilo bags of Santa Rita ice, Jose Cuervo non-alcoholic Margarita Mix, Clamato for micheladas, ginger ale from Canada Dry and Schweppes, sparkling mixers from San Pellegrino, Perrier and Peñafiel, Schweppes tonic water — and the three orange liqueurs that turn tequila into a proper margarita: Controy (Mexico's classic), Cointreau and Grand Marnier. It all arrives before you do and the first bags of ice go straight into the freezer.

Think of this as the shelf that finishes every other bottle in the house. Pair it with tequila from Tequila & Mezcal, the whiskey, gin, vodka and rum in Whiskey, Vodka & More, and fresh limes and mint from Fruits & Vegetables, and your villa bar is genuinely complete. The Schweppes tonic and Canada Dry ginger ale come in six-packs and glass bottles; San Pellegrino (250 ml glass) and Perrier (330 ml glass) work as elegant highball mixers or on their own; and Peñafiel 1.75 L is the everyday sparkling workhorse for splashing into anything.

For margaritas, you have two honest paths. The scratch route: tequila, one of the orange liqueurs, fresh Mexican limes, ice and a Tajín rim (Tajín lives in Pantry & Snacks). The shortcut: Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix, which is alcohol-free — so you control the pour, and non-drinkers and kids can have the exact same frozen margarita, virgin. For micheladas and the famous morning-after "vuelve a la vida," the Clamato tomato-and-clam cocktail comes in 946 ml and 1.89 L, plus a spicy Vuelve a la Vida version, and there is a Clamato-and-Tajín combo for the full michelada setup.

Everything is ordered before arrival, confirmed by your concierge, and stocked villa-ready before check-in — cold items into the fridge, ice into the freezer. Mixers and ice are also the most common same-day rescue: orders confirmed before 1 PM can arrive the same afternoon, so a spontaneous pool party doesn't end early. The Clamato-and-Tajín combo is a build-to-order item with no fixed price yet, so your concierge confirms the exact total with you before anything is charged.

The orange liqueurs and any spirits are alcohol; describing the selection is easy, but valid ID may be required at delivery. If there's a specific mixer, bitters or garnish you don't see here — grapefruit soda for palomas, a particular tonic, cocktail cherries — send it through Custom Request and your concierge confirms what's available locally before you approve and pay.

Bar, Mixers & Ice — FAQ

Can you deliver ice to a villa in Cabo, and how much should we order?

Yes — Santa Rita ice comes in 5-kilo bags that arrive with your order and go straight into the freezer as part of villa-ready stocking. For a group of 8 spending an afternoon by the pool, a couple of 5-kilo bags covers drinks and a cooler; a full party goes through more, so plan two to three. Ice melts, so it's also the number-one same-day top-up — confirm before 1 PM and it can arrive the same afternoon.

What do I need for margaritas at the villa?

Tequila from Tequila & Mezcal, an orange liqueur (Controy, Cointreau or Grand Marnier), fresh Mexican limes from Fruits & Vegetables, ice, and Tajín or salt for the rim. If you'd rather not measure, Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix does the citrus-and-sweet part for you — just add tequila and ice. Tell your concierge how many are drinking and the bar can be sized to your group before you approve the order.

Which orange liqueur should I choose — Controy, Cointreau or Grand Marnier?

Controy is the Mexican classic and the traditional choice for an everyday house margarita — it's what many Cabo bars pour. Cointreau is a crisp, clear triple sec that keeps the drink bright and clean. Grand Marnier is orange liqueur blended with cognac, richer and rounder — the pour for a top-shelf "Cadillac" margarita. All three are in this category; a splash floated on top of a Cointreau margarita is the Cadillac move.

What is a michelada, and what is Clamato Vuelve a la Vida?

A michelada is Mexico's beloved beer cocktail: cold lager over ice with Clamato, fresh lime and a Tajín-salted rim. Grab any Mexican lager from Beer, add Clamato from this category and limes from produce, and you're set — or use the Clamato-and-Tajín combo. Vuelve a la Vida ("return to life") is the spicier Clamato variety named after the classic Mexican seafood cocktail; locals swear by it the morning after a long night.

What mixers do you carry for a full villa bar?

Schweppes tonic water (glass) for gin and tonics, Canada Dry and Schweppes ginger ale for highballs and rum, and sparkling mineral water from San Pellegrino (250 ml glass), Perrier (330 ml glass) and Peñafiel (1.75 L) to lengthen anything. For sodas and juices as mixers — cola, orange, cranberry — see Sodas, Juices & Sports, and for still and flavored water by the case, see Water & Sparkling.

Is the margarita mix alcoholic — can kids and non-drinkers have one?

The Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix is non-alcoholic on its own, so you decide whether tequila goes in. That makes it easy to serve identical frozen margaritas to everyone — virgin for kids and non-drinkers, spiked for the rest — from the same blender. The orange liqueurs (Controy, Cointreau, Grand Marnier) are alcohol; valid ID may be required at delivery.

We ran out of mixers and ice mid-week — how fast can you restock?

Ice, limes and mixers are the most common rescue order, and orders confirmed before 1 PM can arrive the same day, subject to concierge confirmation. Your concierge confirms the exact total, including any build-to-order item like the Clamato-and-Tajín combo, before you approve and pay — so there are no surprises on the restock.
