Sportfishing Charters

Each vessel has a base angler count and a maximum with paid extra guests, ranging from 6 anglers on a 35-foot sportfisher up to 8-10 on larger Vikings. Your concierge matches the boat to your group size.

Charters can be booked Bare Boat (boat, crew and tackle) or All Inclusive (adds food, beverages and live bait).

Full refund if you cancel 72 hours before departure, 50% at 48 hours, and no refund within 24 hours. If the captain cancels for weather or sea conditions, you are not charged.

A full day runs about eight hours, leaving the marina between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. and returning early afternoon; a half day is roughly four hours. It takes one to two hours to reach the fishing grounds, so a full day gives the captain far more room to move and find the fish — and you can always head back early if the group has had enough. Half days work best for first-timers, young children and short stays.

Yes — Mexican law requires a licence for every angler aged 12 and over, and it is easiest to add it to your booking so it is ready at the dock. A daily licence is around $18.50 USD per angler, with weekly and monthly options available; your concierge confirms the current fee when you book. Keep the licence with you — you may be asked for it at the airport if you fly home with your catch.

Striped marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado, wahoo and roosterfish are all caught off Los Cabos, and blue and black marlin run larger — striped marlin are typically 50 to 200 lb, while blue and black can reach far heavier weights. Something bites year-round, but each species has its own peak months. Tell your concierge what you would most like to catch and we will match your dates to the right boat and captain.

Billfish are released. Federal rules require marlin and sailfish to stay in the water, which is also what keeps them alive — handled that way, the fish has better than a 90% chance of survival, and the crew will help you get your photo alongside it safely. Edible species such as dorado, tuna, wahoo, yellowtail and grouper can be kept within the limits printed on your licence.

The crew cleans and fillets what you keep. From there you can have it delivered to your villa for your private chef to cook, take it to a marina restaurant that will prepare it for you, or have it frozen and vacuum-packed to fly home. To travel it must be frozen solid and packed in a hard cooler — not styrofoam — and left unsealed until airport inspection is done.

A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a light jacket for the early departure, and your camera or GoPro. If anyone is prone to motion sickness, take something at least 45 minutes before boarding rather than once you are out on the water. Everything else — rods, tackle, bait, ice and licences — is arranged for you.

Yes, and families book them all the time. Tell your concierge the ages so the right life-vest sizes are on board, bring plenty of sunscreen and water, and consider a half day for very young children. Tipping is customary in Los Cabos — around 15% to 20% of the boat price, handed to the captain to share with the crew.
